Lightcliffe Cricket Club are expecting over 100 juniors for their net sessions starting this Friday and next Monday.
There is also great expectation building with experienced all-rounder Ian Philliskirk signed and an experienced signing for the 2nd X1 team to be announced in a couple of weeks.
Meanwhile, overseas all-rounder Sulliman Khan has had his visa renewed so he will be raring to go come April.
The club’s annual general meeting is on Wednesday, February 3 at the Sun Inn at 8pm. All members are welcome to attend.
Second Eleven skipper and club PRO Michael Brooke said: “Everyone is looking forward to the start of the season now and the club is in good shape on and off the pitch.
“We are expecting a good turnout at winter nets as players focus on having another successful season.
“The club AGM will review the last year and outline strategies and spending for the next 12 months.
“There is much to look forward to.”
The dates for the nets are as follows: Senior nets at Lightcliffe Academy – Mondays 7pm to 9pm from February 1 to March 21.
Under-9s Fridays 6pm to 7pm from this Friday, January 15 to March 18 (excluding half-term February 19)
Under-11s Fridays 7pm to 8pm from this Friday until March 18 and missing the half term week.
Under-13s and Under-15s Mondays 6pm to 7pm from Jan 18 until March 21 excluding half term.
