CLIFTON Rangers played host to several junior sides from Hinna in Norway.
They were in England on a five-day tour of the North West.
Under 12s manager Gary West was contacted by the company he has been in talks with over arranging overseas tournaments to see if Clifton would like to help Hinna with a game for the Under-nines and under-12s.
Before each game the captain of each Rangers side handed the skipper of the Hinna side a pennant.
After the game everyone was welcomed back to Bailiff Bridge Community Centre for pie and peas before returning back to their base in Manchester.
Thanks were expressed to all who pitched in with the food, Bailiff Bridge Centre and Gary West and Ryan Gledhill in what was a very successful evening and one to be repeated in the future.
Melanie Walker said, “This was a great success and both the children and the adults enjoyed it.
“It was nice to see the Norwegians enjoying the Yorkshire fayre.”
Clifton’s under-12s lost 3 - 1 with Owen Murphy getting the home goal.
The under-nines drew 2 - 2. Sam Nixon scored in the first half and Robbie Thompson in the second.
The under-nines B won 1 - 0 with Freddie Ward getting the only goal.
The under-nines C lost 3 - 1. Ellis Walker got the Clifton goal.
