BRIGHOUSE Town officials have wasted no time in securing another kit sponsor after The Barge on Mill Lane stood down after four seasons of excellent commitment.
Coming on board with a two-year agreement in place is the Brighouse Boathouse-based company Accept Car Credit.
Commercial manager Andy Stewart is delighted with the deal and says the strip is already in manufacture and he is hoping that it will be ready in time for the first of the pre-season friendlies which at this moment in time looks likely to be FC Halifax Town.
The date for this game has yet to be nailed down, but it will be either Saturday, July 9 or Tuesday July 12.
Harrogate Railway Athletic come to St Giles Road on Tuesday, July 19, while the following Tuesday sees Town go to AFC Emley.
On Saturday, July 30, leading West Riding CAL Premier Division side Campion visit, while Northern Counties East League Premier Division outfit Albion Sports will be hosted on Monday, August 1.
Doncaster club Armthorpe Welfare are also asking for a friendly and Town are also in talks with Bradford Park Avenue.
Manager Paul Quinn held a coaches’ meeting on Tuesday night to plan for pre-season and update on recruitment.
He reported to Echo Sport that there were no confirmed signings yet in terms of pen-to-paper but lots of promising work going on in the background.
“By the end of the month we should be able to make some announcements,” he added.
“Adam Hewlett has left the club due to work commitments and we will be looking for someone to join the club to cover the fitness and conditioning aspect for the pre-season.
“Personally, I would like to thank Adam for all his hard work and professionalism and wish him every success in the future.
“We have appointed versatile defender Adam Field as club captain. The lad has had total commitment to this club for several seasons now and of late not the best run with injuries, but he always came through to support the lads.”
Last season’s vice-captain and central defender Adam Wilson,who left the club towards the end of the season to concentrate on his new marquee hire business, will play when available for NCEL club AFC Emley.
Local company Treble Clef are installing a new PA system for the club that has been donated by the family of the late Jimmy Heffernan, a former Town player and much-liked former Sunday League player in the town. His son Luke has handed the money to the club’s lottery and ground maintenance chief Ellis Aked and installation will take place ahead of the Halifax game.
Aked has also been overseeing numerous joinery jobs and painting ahead of his colleague Barrie Fitzjohn working on upgrading the club’s dressing rooms with Brighouse Flooring.;
The Evo-Stik NPL are preparing for working on the 2016-17 fixture lists from the last week of June and already Town know their Boxing Day and Easter Monday opponents. On the festive fixture Ossett Albion will visit the Dual Seal Stadium and, on Easter Monday, Town will travel the short distance to the Dimple Wells home of Albion.
