Brighouse Town pulled another win out of the bag on Tuesday evening to seal second place and send Hall Road Rangers down.
The opening 20 minutes was typical end of season fare, but as the half hour approached Town began to lay siege to the visitor’s goal, with attempts from Ryan Hall and Tom Matthews cleared by the ‘keeper.
Town had another attempt in the 32nd minute with Luke Gibson’s left foot shot being pushed away.
It was 40 minutes before the visitors tested Town stopper Tom Taylor but he comfortably saved a free kick from wide out on the left.
Town finally went ahead just before the break when Ryan Hall’s attempt was kicked off the line by Marcus Hall but Matthews belted the ball into the back of the net.
Gibson had a chance to extend the lead from a good position in front of goal but he blasted well wide.
In the 54th minute Gibson sent the ball across the face of the goal but again it flashed agonisingly wide.
Town then brought fresh legs on via Ben Charlesworth for Leon Henry after which Rangers levelled courtrsy of a left foot strike from Luke Sellers.
This hurt Town and five minutes later Hall drew the ‘keeper, turned and then laid the ball off to Matthews who exquisitely chipped a defender on the line from 20 yards out to deservedly put Town 2-1 up.
With two minutes left Tom Brown made it 3-1 with a superb header from Danny Naidole’s well-taken corner which sealed the deal .
It was just left for the runners up cup and medals to be presented by Fairplay Secretary for the Northern Counties League, Karl Blackburn.
Quinn said: “It’s been a superb season and I couldn’t have asked anymore from the lads.”
