Facey bags Brighouse winner

Brighouse Town got back to winning ways after three successive defeats with an exciting 4-3 success away to Clitheroe tonight.

Danny Facey drew first blood for them after 18 minutes of the Evo Stik Northern Premier League Division One contest.

However, Clitheroe scored twice in seven minutes through Louis Mayers and Sefton Gonzales to hit the front.

Chris Fisher’s free kick, which hit a defender before going in, made it 2-2 at the break.

Ryan Hall struck for the visitors on 50 minutes but Mayers’ second five minutes later raised the hosts’ hopes of ending a recent form slump.

However, it was Brighouse who got the winner midway through the second half, good work from Tom Haigh setting up Facey for his second.

Paul Quinn’s side remain 14th. They travel to Kendal Town on Saturday and then have visits from Bamber Bridge and Mossley to complete their league programme.
