Brighouse High School sixth-form student Eleanor Ciesielski has signed for Super League giants Manchester City.
Eleanor, who was 17 last month and now awaits her A Level results, joins City’s development ranks from Bradford Park Avenue Ladies after playing and scoring on a regular basis for Brighouse Town Ladies.
Eleanor, who has also played for Whitcliffe Mount School, Cleckheaton, and been a very talented player with the North of England Centre of Excellence, was met by Steph Haughton, the Manchester City and England 2015 World Cup captain, when she signed on the dotted line at the Premier League giants’ new multi-million pound training and coaching establishment that was only opened earlier this year.
Town Ladies manager Rob Mitchell said he would like to congratulate Ciesielski and added that he thought she had a marvellous future ahead of her in the ever-expanding women’s game.
“Eleanor is a real talent and she will not be out of place at Man City and in Super League when she breaks through,” he added.
Meanwhile, Brighouse Rangers WARLFC are trying to resurrect their girls football team.
Training is on Tuesdays 7-8pm and all girls aged 11 - 17 are welcome to attend.
