The game was switched to the 3G at Woodhouse Grove in Bradford, with Town’s Hove Edge pitch unfit, and things were going to plan for the hosts when prolific scorer Jodie Redgrave gave them the lead with a 20-yard thunderbolt in the first half.

However, the Merseysiders showed their quality after the break, drawing level on 56 minutes, taking the lead with a fantastic long range strike over keeper Georgia Wattam on 72 minutes and adding a third from close range six minutes later.

Redgrave and Annabelle Cass had decent efforts for Brighouse but Mitchell conceded that his side had been outclassed and that Liverpool had “massively deserved” their win.
