Wildlife photography is no easy feat - you can’t direct your subjects, or really guarantee that they’ll even show up in the first place.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year LUMIX People’s Choice award is designed to celebrate the best of the best when it comes to wildlife photography - check out the winning snap here.

The picture that won the award this year is titled ‘Station Squabble’ and was taken by photographer Sam Rowley.

The picture shows a dramatic scene of two mice fighting in a deserted London Underground platform.

Rowley explained that the best way to photograph the mice that lived in the London Underground was to simply lie on the platform and wait. He observed the mice getting into scraps over food that had been dropped by passengers - the squabble in his winning picture was over in seconds before one mouse grabbed a crumb and the two went their separate ways.

His winning picture will be displayed, alongside the other 25 shortlisted for the competition, at an exhibition at the Natural History Museum until 31 May 2020.
