A burst water pipe has has caused a main road through Gomersal to close, causing severe delays.
Oxford Road has been shut in both directions between the Grove Lane and Bleak Street junctions.
Church Lane is also affected between Oxford Road and Craven Drive, as well as Spen Lane between Oxford Road and Pollard Avenue.
Traffic was delayed during the morning rush hour and is expected to affect commuters again this evening.
A Yorkshire Water spokesman said: “We would like to inform commuters and local residents that we have had to close the junction where Church Lane meets Oxford Road to enable our technicians to excavate the road and repair a burst water pipe.
“Traffic diversion signs have been put in place and we would encourage vehicles to avoid this route if they can.
“We will do our best to repair the pipe and re-open the road as soon as possible, but it is too early for us to say when the road will be re-opened. Further updates will follow.
“No homes or businesses have lost water supplies which are running as normal.”
Diversions are in place and some bus services have been altered.
