Brighouse Juniors Football club have been given a welcome boost thanks to Sainsbury’s Brighouse.
The supermarket on Bradford Road, has presented the club with a community grant of £200 that will go towards the cost of football kits.
Sainsbury’s Brighouse store manager, Colin Meah, said “Our store is at the heart of the local community and it is important we can do as much as we can to support it.
“When we heard about Brighouse Juniors AFC we were really pleased to be able to help.” The Sainsbury’s Community Grant scheme, helping charitable groups in the local community, is funded by sales of ‘Bags for Life’.
Customers at Sainsbury’s Brighouse buying a ‘Bag for Life’, are not just helping the environment, but are also making a contribution to the local community.
Last year alone the Community Grant scheme provided £135k worth of donations, nominated by depot and store managers and colleagues from stores nation wide.
