The exceptional sporting performance of Rastrick High School students was recognised at a special presentation evening.
Students from across the year groups were celebrated for their achievements and the night, held at Bertie’s, Elland, was made all the more special thanks to an appearance from Premier League and FA Cup final referee Jon Moss.
The prestigious Jubilee Award was presented to Daniel Walsh in recognition of his outstanding contribution to school sport. An accomplished runner, Daniel was selected for the England team at the Welsh International Athletics event where he achieved a silver medal.
Headteacher Steve Evans said: “The evening was a great success, highlighting the vast range of sports our students are successfully competing in, at local, regional and national levels.
“The event also served to highlight the unwavering support our students receive from their parents and the challenge they are delivered everyday by our outstanding PE Department.
“It was also great to see Daniel Walsh receive the prestigious Jubilee Trophy, his success at a national level in athletics is proof what hard work and dedication can achieve, and he is certainly someone who I believe will be a track start of the future.”
