A Hipperholme resident who is part of the Huddersfield Choral Society was presented with a special gift after 50 years sevice with the choir.
Christine Durham was given a a silver salver and flowers by president Jane Sargent for her service - a feat even more remarkable as, for ten years, Christine travelled from Whitby each Friday for rehearsals before moving back to Hipperholme.
Jane said: “We are so lucky to have such dedicated members setting the standard for everyone else. We hope these awards inspire the choir’s younger members at the start of their own journeys of musical discovery with the choir.”
