A Brighouse activity centre will go head-to-to head with Yorkshire’s best to be crowned the top small visitor attraction in the county.
Rokt Climbing Gym has been nominated in the category for the Welcome to Yorkshire’s White Rose Awards.
The ceremony on November 9 honour the best tourism businesses in the county covering 16 categories including Tourism Event of the Year, Large Visitor Attraction and Restaurant with Rooms.
The climbing gym opened its doors to the public in April 2011.
Located in the belly of former flour mill, Sugden’s, the site has undergone continuous design, development and renovation, creating an ever-growing labyrinth of interesting and unique climbing environments.
The Shibden Mill Inn has also been nominated in three categories at the awards: Yorkshire Pub, Small Hotel/Townhouse and Restaurant with rooms.
Lizzie Jones, the widow of rugby league star Danny Jones, will open the show which will also feature the first full play of the anthemic song “Yorkshire” written by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth from their musical “The Girls”.
Fresh from their second consecutive county championship win, Yorkshire County Cricket Club players will be among special guests at the awards ceremony which is this year held at First Direct Arena in Leeds.
Treble winners Leeds Rhinos will also be at the event after a remarkable season.
