Clifton Rangers under 11’s A certainly found their shooting boots as they set a club record with a 25-0 victory.

The team made the trip to a cold and foggy Mount Pleasant early on Sunday morning.

However it didn’t dampen the boys’ spirits and within minutes, Clifton were one goal up, then two, then three. By half time, Clifton had scored seven unanswered goals.

Despite the fighting fighting spirit and perseverance from the opposition it was to no avail as Clifton hit the back of the net an astonishing 18 more times in the second half - not two minutes went by without a goal.

With the exception of the keeper, every player, and sub scored, in a display of fantastic selfless and entertaining football.

The final score of 25-0 is a club record, that is likely to stand for some time to come.

Coach James Blamires said: “It’s great to see the Under 11’s team playing to such a standard, and enjoying the game: they’ve done themselves, the coaches, their parents and Clifton Rangers YFC proud - they showed great sportsmanship and respect, shaking the hands of the opposition after the match.”
