At the beginning of February, several pubs in the area agreed to put a pint pot on their bar to collect loose change to donate to Brighouse Town in order for them make some ground improvements that they need to address.
Marsha Jones at The Old Ship Inn, Rachel Bray at Jeremy’s and Natalie Hayton at The Sun Inn, Rastrick, all obliged and the money was collected on Saturday and presented to Brighouse Town officials (See Echo sports pages).
Both Marsha and Rachel collected money with a pint glass on the bar and Natalie topped up her pint pot collection with a meat raffle.
Alan Ingle at The Pear Tree, Battyeford, Mirfield, also made a very generous personal donation to his hometown club.
“On behalf of the club we just want to thank the landladies and landlords and all their customers for donating to the club. The money will be a massive help to us,” said Brighouse Town Chairman Ray McLaughlin.
