The first major business which will be moving into a new retail park in Brighouse has been announced by the developers.
Gregory Property Group has agreed a deal with Pets at Home to occupy the balance of space at its new 33,500 sq ft scheme under development on the former Dews garage site on Bradford Road.
Pets at Home has agreed a new lease to take a 6,000 sq ft unit which will include a vets and groomer’s service.
The ‘Groom Room’ concept offers microchipping, nail clipping, or a full bath and blow dry, with 180 salons nationwide.
Richard Tovey, director at Gregory Property Group, said: “We are pleased to have agreed a pre let with Pets at Home which is a reputable and strong performing businesses that will bring benefits to the Brighouse community.”
Work has already started on site to transform the former car showroom with the remaining 27,500 sq ft of space also under agreement to lease by a major goods discount retailer.
Dews Motor Group sold the site on Bradford Road to Gregory Property Group after announcing plans to move its operation into Halifax, allowing it to operate within a cluster area for vehicle retailing.
An anticipated eight-month build programme will becompleted by September 2016.
The Leeds office of Jones Lang LaSalle advised Gregory Property Group on both lettings.
Gregory Property Group is no stranger to Calderdale since it completed the widely acclaimed £40 million Broad Street Plaza Leisure development in Halifax town centre in 2012.
Plans were approved for the Brighouse development in May by Calderdale Council and will also feature 99 parking spaces, including six disabled people’s parking spaces.
