Nicola and 31 Lloyds Banking Group colleagues from across the UK are aiming to raise £140,000, cycling from the Pacific Coast to the Caribbean Coast in just seven days in November.
She said: “In recent years, a number of my friend’s have had to cope with a parent who has been affected by dementia, and I know how distressing this has been for both them and their families.
“I have just had one of those a “big” birthdays, where your age now ends in a zero, and that has motivated me to get a better level of fitness.
“The Coast to Coast challenge is a great focal point for reaching my fitness goal, as success is imperative, knowing that Alzheimer’s Society have put their faith in me!”
The money raised through the challenge will support Alzheimer’s Society, Alzheimer Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group’s pioneering ‘Live Well’ programme which is about to be rolled out nationally across the UK.
