Marie Curie is appealing for volunteers in the Brighouse area to become members in the new fundraising group that will meet on a monthly basis and cover the HD6 area.

In particular volunteers to take up the role of Group Chair, Secretary and Treasurer are needed.

People interested in finding out more about the group and who would like to meet other like-minded supporters of the charity in Brighouse are invited to meet with local Marie Curie fundraiser, Aanika Dhillon, on Thursday 1st September at 6.30-7.30pm in Brighouse.

The meeting is an opportunity for some of our supporters and existing volunteers in Brighouse to meet each other, discuss ideas for fundraising in the community and to find out more about the nursing services they’ll be helping to fund. Anyone who is interested to learn more about Marie Curie in Brighouse, and would like to consider being a group member too is welcome to join us on the evening.

Fundraising Group Members would need to a few hours each month to meet as a group to plan local fundraising events and help deliver Marie Curie campaigns within the local community.

The group will have dedicated support from their local community fundraiser for Brighouse, Aanika Dhillon as well as a full kit of fundraising materials and resources to help spread the word about Marie Curie services and activities in Brighouse.

Aanika Dhillon, Community Fundraiser said, “We need people with a broad range of skills to help us with our local fundraising activities, from people with the gift of the gab right through to organisers who can come up with event ideas.

“We also need as many helpers as possible, so if you think you’ve got a couple of hours a month that you’d be able to give to support the local Marie Curie nursing service please get in touch and hopefully join un on 1st September.”

All money raised by the group is to provide high quality nursing care to terminally ill patients, totally free, in Brighouse.
