The Old Pond at St Giles Road, Hove Edge, is currently closed for two weeks while a £75,000 upgrade and refurbishment takes place. Phil Garbe, manager of Brighouse Old Boys FC, says the team has relocated from the Old Pond to the White Horse at Lightcliffe while the work takes place to prepare for the West Yorkshire League season which starts on August 17.
On Saturday at Milry’s bar and restaurant at the Coach House, Brighouse, there will be live music from the Dana Ali Band.
The newly-formed outfit plays jazz, soul and funk and features local musicians Dave Hewitt on bass, Martin Chung on guitar and Marc Leyton-Bennett on drums, fronted by the soulful vocals of Dana Ali. The ticket price of £24 per head includes a three course meal. To book phone 01484 717570.

On Friday at the Lightcliffe Club it’s the monthly record hop with Jiving Jeff. It’s always a busy night with plenty of opportunity for dancing from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.
