Low rope trails, archery, grass sledging and a low level climbing wall were just a few of the activities youngsters could try as part of an Outdoor Adventure Day in Brighouse.
Organised by Girlguiding North East England more than 200 rainbows and young brownies, aged five to eight, attended the event held at Bradley Wood Scout Camp.
Rainbows from 2nd Rastrick joined girls from Leeds, Huddersfield, Bradford and Sheffield at the event.
Fiona Roberts, one of the organisers and leader of the Rastrick unit, said they all had a fantastic time. “They each got a goodie bag and had a badge designed for them. We were a bit worried about the weather but it held off for us. To finish the day we had a big camp fire which was the only time all 200 girls were together. We sang lots of camp fire songs.
“It just allowed them all to mix with different units and to meet others and speak to them.”
