SUNNY Bank Tenants Association has been awarded a grant for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
This has been donated by Community Foundation for Calderdale from its Queen Diamond Jubilee fund which will help to pay towards the costs of holding a jubilee party for the residents of Sunnybank and also the residents from nearby houses.
Secretary of the tenants group, Marlene Lister, said: “Thanks to the CFFC we can now decorate the estate with bunting and balloons and use the large grassed area to put the party food out on.”
The Brighouse Echo has joined forces with CFFC to offer charity and community groups the chance to bag a share of £10,000.
The grant is open to projects in Brighouse, Rastrick and Hipperholme and Lightcliffe as part of the Echo’s 125th anniversary celebrations.
CFFC will be managing and distributing the grants between £500 to £900 per group. The deadline for applications is Friday, June 8.
To qualify for the grant the groups must have a constitution or relevant governance document, have their own bank account and provide annual accounts, and have an appropriate, written policy for safeguarding children and young people and/or vulnerable adults, if they work with any of these groups.
They must ensure that their services and activities are open and accessible to everyone in the community that they serve. All this must be submitted and signed and dated by at least one officer of the management committee.
All applications must be completed at www.cffc.co.uk For assistance with the application or any queries call the grants team on 01422 349700.
