Marie Curie appeals for Brighouse group members

Marie Curie is appealing for volunteers in Brighouse to take on key roles within the area’s new fundraising group that meets locally each month.

The roles the Brighouse Fundraising Group need specifically are a group chair, secretary and treasurer.

These group members will meet for a few hours each month to plan local fundraising events and help deliver Marie Curie campaigns.

The group has dedicated support from their local community fundraiser for Brighouse, Aanika Dhillon, as well as a full kit of fundraising materials and resources to help spread the word about Marie Curie services and activities in Brighouse.

The group chair would guide the monthly meetings and ensure the agenda is followed, whilst encouraging other members to take active roles in the group.

The treasurer will be in charge of banking all the group’s fundraised money, so needs to be a confident record keeper and able to share this information with the rest of the group.

The secretary will take the minutes of each meeting, write the meetings’ agendas and produce posters for the group’s events.

Aanika Dhillon said: “We need people with a broad range of skills to help us with our local fundraising activities, from people with the gift of the gab right through to organisers who can come up with event ideas.

“We also need as many helpers as possible, so if you think you’ve got a couple of hours a month that you’d be able to give to support the local Marie Curie nursing service please get in touch.”
