Man rescued from Boothtown flat fire

A man had to be rescued from a burning Boothtown flat following a chip pan fire yesterday (Sunday).

The incident happened just before 6pm in the kitchen of a property in Akroyd Court, Range Lane.

The male occupant was rescued from the flat by firefighters from Halifax Station.

He was taken to hospital suffering smoke inhalation.

The flat had a working smoke alarm.
