Ladies dress to impress during fun race event
A group of ladies donned their best hats to enjoy a day at the races.
Organised by Friends of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice around 70 ladies attended the Holiday Inn, Clifton, for fun packed day all in the name of charity.
There was lunch as well as live racing from Ascot and afternoon tea.
One of the organisers Dawn Marron said it was a fantastic event. “Everyone was in really good spirits and we all had a lovely day. This is the fourth year we have organised it and everyone had a great time.”
There were prizes for the winning owners, the lady who bet on the winning horse and the best hat which was awarded to Julie Gledhill.
Money was raised for the hospice in Brackenhall through ticket sales and so far around £600 has been raised with money still coming in.
Mrs Marron said it was a team effort organising the event. “I have supported them for the last seven years,” she said. “We have always wanted a hospice building now we have got one we need to raise the funds to keep it going.”
