It’s a bit of a puzzle - how many pieces will fit into a festival?

Fans of jigsaw puzzles will be flocking to St Martin’s Church, Brighouse, this weekend.

The church is hosting its second annual jigsaw festival and a weekend of frenetic puzzling activity is on the cards.

More than 900 puzzles have been donated and assembled by willing volunteers and during the festival there will be up to 200 puzzles on display at any one time.

One of the organisers, Alan Sparkes, said: “Volunteers have spent around 6,000 hours assembling more than 650,000 jigsaw pieces to make the event possible - one party is travelling more than 40 miles to attend!”

The festival runs from Friday to Bank Holiday Monday from 10am to 5pm, noon to 5pm on Sunday. Entry is £2 which includes a discount voucher. There will be refreshments and a Golden Jigsaw competition. This year the event will support the Forget-Me-Not Children’s Hospice.
