Inside the council: Campaign to fix our potholes

You will be aware that I’ve been passionately campaigning to improve local infrastructure, specifically with regard to street lighting and road surfacing.

I’m glad to report that work has begun on Bramston Street, but I feel more needs to be done.

A common concern I hear from you is that potholes such as those on Bridge End , Slade Lane and Birds Royd Lane amongst others are causing damage to cars and posing a hazard to the elderly and those with physical impairments.Another fear is the risk posed by numerous lights throughout the ward, not least the one on Church Street, by which two junctions of a busy road intersect, and is used by many pedestrians who use the church and local amenities.

I will continue to work with the highways department to deliver the amenities and services that you need.

If you are affected, or indeed if you wish to talk to me about any matter of concern as your councillor, you can do so by emailing
