A BRIGHOUSE slimmer has been voted champion of her group.
Michele Gallagher has already lost three stones at the Brighouse Slimming World class that launched at Central Methodist Church this summer.
Michele lives in Dalton but attends the class in Brighouse as she didn’t want to go to a local one because if it didn’t work and she didn’t lose weight then no one she knew would know she had failed.
Now she is over the moon at being voted group woman of the year, even though her journey is not over it’s an amazing boost in the right direction,” she said.
“It has been such an easy way to lose weight and change my eating habits for life. I don’t feel I am dieting just eating healthier.
“The group I go to on a Tuesday is great fun and we all swap recipes and help to motivate each other and have a good laugh,” she said.
“I feel so much fitter and healthier for the weight I have lost already and can’t wait to get to my target which is losing another stone before Christmas. I would recommend it to anyone who needs to lose any weight.”
Michele said she decided to shed the pounds as her best friend died of obesity at the age of 30 which scared her and she didn’t want to end up the same way especially after being diagnosed with high blood pressure.
“Since losing the weight my blood pressure has dropped significantly,” she added.
Rue Wray who runs the classes said Michele will easily be able to manage her target.
“Things have been going really well at my Tuesday night group so I have been asked to relaunch the Brighouse Sports Club group at 7pm on Wednesday nights. I am so excited to be going in there.”
