Generous customers help youngsters in hospital


Customers at Tesco in Brighouse have dug deep to help children at Calderdale Royal Hospital.

Sharon Kilner, Better Services Manager at the store in Bradford Road, asked customers if they were able to buy then donate gifts from their toy department for youngsters on the children ward.

Staff gratefully received £260 worth of toys and delivered them to the ward.

Brighouse PCSO Jane Saxelby-Wyatt wanted to help too through her rounds of walking the street she saw a giant teddy in the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice charity shop.

She explained what Tesco Brighouse was doing and the manager kindly donated it to the supermarket.

Sharon said: “We really want to thank our customers for being so kind and enabling us to use our scale for good to help us give back into our community.”
