A children’s hospice is launching the Yorkshire Day Tea Party to celebrate Yorkshire Day on August 1.
The campaign will start with a tea party at the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice for the children and their families attended by ITN newsreader Nina Hossain.
The charity is encouraging the community to hold tea parties throughout August to celebrate Yorkshire Day and also to raise money to support the children and families cared at the hospice. The charity’s target is to have more than 100 tea parties held throughout August and is making an appeal to anyone who may be interested.
Fund-raiser Gaynor Bearder said: “We are tremendously excited by the positive response we have already received from our supporters, who are so enthusiastic to hold their own tea parties.”
Head of marketing Clare-Marie Taylor said: “This is a fantastic feel good campaign. Everyone loves a traditional tea party in the summer and what better reason to hold one than to celebrate both Yorkshire day and raise funds for Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.”
With support from Taylor’s Yorkshire Tea including bunting, posters and tea bags and the charity’s own top tips, bunting and posters, tea party holders will find it easy to make their event feel special.
