The fun included games, activities, readings and quizzes, while staff dressed up the venue and served snacks to celebrate.
Stephanie Cooper, Brighouse High School librarian, said: “There were ten children from years seven and eight who took part and they really enjoyed it.
“In fact they liked it so much they asked if they could do it again next week.
“Several staff dressed up in costumes, plus we had a Harry Potter quiz, musical chairs and pass the parcel.
“We also had a feast and dressed the library up like the Great Hall in the Harry Potter films with gold cups and plates and ate by candlelight.
“Everyone had a really good time. I think we’ll be doing it again next year.
“These events help encourage children to read books and really brought the story to life for them.”
