The Lightcliffe Golf Club had their Summer Grand Prix Presentation Evening with over 40 members and players celebrating the end of the mixed Friday night golf with a carvery meal and prize presentation.
The new competition was open to all abilities, guests and friends.
Teams of four played Texas Scramble matches and each match had a international theme, including the USA and its evening BBQ, France , India and Spain and Italy having heir own themed dining.
Club Captain Chris Powell led the winning team “Captains Squared”, with Dick Nuttall and Judith Porters teams’ collecting other prizes.
The competition is set to run next year when the new greens will be in play.
Both this year’s teams and new ones are invited to join in the fun night.
There is live music at The George this weekend with Ezee Going from 8pm on Friday night.
It’s a big weekend at the pub celebrating Halloween and they are encouraging all to come in Fancy dress and claim a free glass of Halloween Punch, available all weekend, (while stocks last).
On Saturday from 8pm they have DJ Derek bringing you a Halloween Party with Karaoke! Complete with apple bobbing and goodies to give away.
Don’t forget, they will still be showing all the live sporting action with great value prices Carling at £1.95 and Smooth from £1.80!
Also there is a pumpkin carving competition in the pub Friday from 11am.
Rastrick Cricket Club
After the success of September’s Party On The Hill at Rastrick CC they have more live music this Saturday evening when they will be entertained by the Fiery Biscuits from 8pm onwards. Entrance is free and everyone is welcome. There will also be a raffle to raise funds for the local MS group.
Tonight (Thursday) at The Barge, it is the weekly jam session. On Friday night they have the amazing meltdown for the pubs ‘Under New Management’ launch party. There is a Halloween fancy dress party and pumpkin carving with prizes. The new management team is Paul Hamilton and Tracy Stokes-Brennan. On Saturday they have the band of Oz returning and Cue Ball Katz will perform on Friday.
The Red Rooster
Participants in this evening’s National Curry week event at the Red Rooster can also get a taste for the Lake District! You get a free drink with your two course curry, as much as you can eat and the chance to sample Lakeland brews.
On Saturday night at the top local band Rainey Street will be performing at 9pm.
Carol Devlin has been in touch, the pub now have Sky Sports, serve real ales and will have discos this Friday and Saturday evening.
