The Brighouse Sports and Social Club function room, now renamed The Party Venue at Russell Way, are proud to announce that their catering team AD Catering Services have recently received a five star rating for their food hygiene from Calderdale Council.
Adele Daniels and Rob Newbould took on the catering at the venue only in August and have quickly built up a reputation for high quality food at reasonable prices. Feedback so far has been excellent. Bookings for next year are already looking very busy and Adele and Rob can cater for any type of event from weddings to sportsman’s dinners to funeral teas.
The team had a very busy but successful weekend last week with Natwest bank’s charity ball on Friday evening.
On Saturday a coach party of Middlesborough football fans booked in for lunch en route to the match with Huddersfield Town, and following a quality lunch and a few pints promised to return next year if they are not promoted.
Saturday Night saw a successful Tamla Motown and Soul night where Rob and Adele providing an excellent soul food chicken curry and rice, or a homemade meat and potato pie which again went down a storm with the guests.
A very busy Christmas period is coming up with Christmas Parties, a Christmas Wedding and a big night New Year’s Eve where Bradford-based party band The Void will be appearing and a quality supper will be included.

The George in Brighouse is under new management from the beginning of this week. Previous manager Dave Harker, with his late wife Susan, has run the George for the last five years and have done an excellent job.
Business owner Matt Parkinson has acquired The Hare and Hounds at Great Horton in Bradford, another Enterprise Inns pub and has asked Dave to take charge up there.
“The Hare and Hounds is a big pub and is where I originally started off in the trade, running the pub with my sister 11 years ago,” said Matt.
“The Hare needs a good strong manager who has a proven ability to drive a business forward as well as serving up some good food. As a result I think this is the right job for Dave. I would like to thank Dave for all his hard work at the George and wish him good luck for the future at the new site.”
Dave had a farewell party last Friday with live music from the band Rock Steady and put on a free supper for everyone. Matt Parkinson has employed new manager Carol Lofthouse who took over on Monday and would like to welcome customers old and new to support her in her new role at The George, which will be undergoing further changes over the coming weeks.
Tonight (Thursday) at The Barge it’s the weekly jam session with the Psychoslinkys. On Friday The Carnival will be on stage, Saturday evening The Doctors will entertain and the weekend’s live music will wrap up with Howlin Ric and The Rocketeers on Sunday night.
The Millers Bar is offering a Christmas night of fun with their Land of Nod, meal and show starting at 7pm on December 9. Tickets are £25 and include the show and a two course meal upstairs at Millers. The popular venue has also introduced five festive cocktails which include Chocolate Orange, mincemeat Martini, mulled Port and lemon, Christmas Cosmopolitan and an Appleberry mulled wine. Non alcoholic mocktails are also available.
Tonight (Thursday) at Jeremy’s they kick off their Christmas party nights with a DJ Soul and Motown party night from 9pm. Then on Friday evening Helter Skelter will be performing from 9.30pm, playing the very best of rock, indie, Britpop and pop from the 60s to present day. On Saturday night the Laura Erby Band are on stage from 9.30pm, they are a party band playing a mix of dancefloor hits from 70s to present day. On Sunday from 4pm it’s the acoustic sounds of Rebecca Lindley from 4pm.
