Photographers of all ages and experience levels are invited to take part in the Visit Calderdale photo competition as part of English Tourism Week.
English Tourism Week runs from Saturday, March 5 to Sunday, March 13, and is a celebration of events demonstrating the quality and vibrancy of the tourism industry.
As part of this, Visit Calderdale is hosting a photo competition to showcase the very best of Calderdale, illustrating why it’s such a great place to visit.
Photos could be of a place, person, event, local landscape or really anything else that shows what Calderdale has to offer.
There’s just one, open category but the photo has to be taken in Calderdale in either 2015 or 2016 and you must have permission from anyone featured.
All entries will be displayed on the Visit Calderdale Flickr page https://www.flickr.com/photos/visitcalderdale/.
The winning image will receive international exposure by being showcased on VisitCalderdale.com and the Visit Calderdale Facebook and Twitter pages.
The winner will also receive a family day ticket to Shibden Hall.
Send entries (no more that three photos per person) by email to firstname.lastname@example.org during English Tourism Week. The winner will be notified by email on Friday, March 18.
Calderdale Council’s cabinet member for communities, Coun Steve Sweeney, said: “We know that Calderdale is a great place to visit, and we’d like people to send in their favourite recent photographs to highlight our beautiful borough during English Tourism Week.
“You don’t need to be a professional photographer to enter, just someone who can snap a shot to show potential visitors what’s on offer in Calderdale.”
