A Clifton academy is celebrating an outstanding success after receiving a glowing report following its latest Ofsted inspection.
Inspectors visited St John’s C of E Primary Academy and rated it to be outstanding grade in all areas.
In his report lead inspector Peter Marsh said: “St John’s C of E Academy is exceptionally good at meeting the need of all pupils who attend. As a result, pupils thrive and by the end of Year six the standards of attainment are higher than in most schools.
“Strong relationships between staff and pupils are the bedrock of this caring school. The well-being of every child is at the heart of everything the academy does.
“Safeguarding procedures are highly effective and as a result, pupils and parents are confident in the academy’s safe environment.”
Principal Helen Lever joined the academy in September 2012 and has already achieved success.
Mrs Lever said: “They have worked so hard to develop their teaching and learning, taken on board all the training and new ideas we have introduced and really supported each other.
“They really deserve the lovely comments written in the report.
“This has always been an outstanding school, and it is good to maintain the tradition.”
To further improve, the academy should extend opportunities for managers to develop their skills further.
