Football coaches and young players from schools across Calderdale trained with some of the best youth coaches in world football.
Hosted by Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School they learnt new skills and new systems – skills and systems which have helped delivered Spanish football to the top of the World. This included the psychology, the thinking, the dynamics and the passion it takes to help cultivate and nurture the creative football potential of young players.
Each school were able to take a talented 15 and 13-year-old pupil who received skills coaching from the Valencia Academy coaches and then participated in a seven-a-side tournament in the afternoon.
Valencia FC head academy coach Carlos De Lera: “We have welcomed thousands of young players from the UK over the past eight years to our training complex in Spain. We are very excited to be given the opportunity to offer our skills and knowledge to over 250 secondary schools throughout the UK in September.”
