Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School is holding a music show with a difference.
The event ‘Great Gig at the High’ will give sixth form students the chance to show off their skills on the drums, guitars, piano and other instruments.
“We wanted to give them the opportunity to show their talent as usually in school talent shows, it is mainly the same singers who participate. A lot of the participants in our show have never performed in front of any kind of audience before,” said project leader Amy Blyth.
“We also wanted to show the audience the range of talent in our school; it doesn’t stop at acting, singing and dancing.”
Money from ticket sales is going to Candlelighters. The students hope to raise at least £200 for the charity.
The show is on January 29 and tickets are available through the school.
