Friends set to share memories of schooldays at Eastfield

MORE than 100 pupils who used to attend Eastfield School, Lightcliffe, are expected to attend its reunion.

The event, entitled ‘Eastfield Secondary School the days before Hipperholme and Lightcliffe’ will take place tomorrow, Friday, at Heath Rugby Union Club’s clubhouse, in Stainland Road, Greetland.

Former student Phil Barsby who is organising the event has set up a Facebook page about the event which includes former students from all over the country who have said they will be attending.

The reunion starts at 7.30pm until midnight and there will be a disco at 8pm. Tickets cost £5 which are available on the night.

Anyone can attend who started at the school in Stoney Lane, before it changed its name in 1985.

“We also want people to upload their photos from school and anything they may have from Eastfield because we are still struggling to find any pictures or photographs,” said Phil. “So if anyone has anything from their days at school then please do get in touch.”

Phil has set up a guest book at the event.

Over the past few weeks many past students have been getting in contact through the social-networking site, Facebook, to express how much they are looking forward to the reunion and catching up with old school friends.
