St Matthew’s Church, Lightcliffe, organised a bake off and fun day on Saturday to raise money for the church.
Budding bakers rose to the challenge of displaying their delicious home-made sweet treats during the event at neighbouring Lightcliffe C of E School.
Lucy and Anabelle Thornton, George Montgomery and Mackenna Ashton won cookbooks for their efforts, and Pauline Bottomley scooped the top prize of an afternoon tea for two at Lightcliffe Tea Rooms.
Heather Harding, secretary of the parish council committee, said: “The cakes were all of a really good standard.
“They looked fantastic and I think it definitely made for tough judging.”
The fun day included craft and bell ringing workshops, tombola and lucky dip stalls, as well as lunches and cream teas sold by the church.
Around £450 was raised and will now be put towards church funds.
