A teaching assistant was treated like royalty after 28 years of service.
Susan Yates had worked at St Andrew’s Infant School for almost three decades before retiring.
Having led the school choir at the school for many years, she was treated to a special assembly where she sat on her throne as they sang “Let’s go fly a kite” and “Shalom”.
The children then presented her with many gifts including a specially made fruit cake designed in the shape of the school logo, a bouquet of flowers, a necklace, gift vouchers, pampering items and a tea towel with pictures of all the staff and children. Speaking on her retirement, she said she is looking forward to spending time with her family and in her garden.
