Staff at the Premier Inn settled down for 24 hours as they spent the whole day in bed to raise money for Great Ormand Street Hospital.
As part of the chain’s charity week, the hotel on Wakefield Road saw Suzanne Nicholl and Danielle Woods, take on the challenge of staying in bed for the day.
From the single event they raised £120 with a grand total from the week of £965.
Operations manager Andrew Beck at the Brighouse branch, said the girls were getting a lot of interest from guests. “We had a lot of people who were very intrigued by it and finding out about it,” he said.
“I was delivering coffee and breakfast. Then in the evening guests were bringing them glasses of wine and at one point we had six people in the bed.”
Other events included one member of staff having their head shaved, a bun and cake sale and hotel raffle.
They are currently running their Easter hamper raffle and the seven hotels including those in Huddersfield and Halifax are collecting a mile of pennies.
“We want to say a massive thank you to staff and guests for the difference it is going to make. In the North East we have raised £19,000 which is a phenomenal amount,” added Andrew
