Residents have raised concerns about a derelict pub in Rastrick that is attracting anti-social behaviour.
Youths have been seen hanging around the former Bramble Inn on Holly Bank Road and there has been a build up of litter at the site, according to residents.
PC Chris Madden of the Lower Valley neighbourhood policing team told residents at the ward forum that he had spoken to neighbouring residents regarding the issue.
“When we have come up to speak to youths they have gone around the back of the fences and run off,” he said. “We have yet to identify the group using it but we will continue to monitor the situation.”
He added: “We have spoken to the owner who was in the process of bricking it up and trying to stop what is going on.”
In the past youngsters have been sitting on the roof and breaking windows.
Some youths have been issued with anti-social behaviour warning letters by the police after they were found causing problems in the area.
In October 2011 Calderdale Council gave outline planning permission for nine town houses and two semi detached properties to be built on the site.
In a report outlining the proposals, developers said that the empty pub had been boarded up for some time due to vandalism and thefts at the property.
