THE case against a Brighouse dentist has been adjourned for eight months.

Dr Muzzafar Zaman, of The Fresh Smile Clinic, in High Street, was summoned to appear before the General Dental Council to answer several charges last week.

He allegedly made misleading, inappropriate and unprofessional comments some of which were heard at the London hearing.

But the case has been delayed possibly until October.

The dentist is facing 18 charges relating to 14 patients. Among the charges are that he claimed in May 2009 to a patient that the general state of her teeth was a matter of serious concern, if she did not do anything now, she would have false teeth forever and that her face would sag and sink inwards as all the gum shrinks back.

Dr Zaman is said to have failed to record dosages of drugs administered and failed to fill in paperwork as obliged to.
