Preparations are well underway for the 650th anniversary celebrations at St Matthew’s Church, Rastrick.
A festival of special events has been organised at the historic church from September 21 to 29. St Matthew’s Day on September 21 will see the church open to the public from 10am to 4pm with displays by local schools and organisations.
At 7.30pm there will be a musical extravaganza featuring school choirs and singers from the Rastrick area. Tickets are available from 01484 718825 or 716264.
The Rt Rev Tony Robinson, Bishop of Pontefract, will lead a celebration service on Sunday, September 22. On Saturday September 28 there will be a harvest supper in Rastrick Parish Centre with family tickets at £22.
