It was celebrations at the double for a Lightcliffe hairdresser who marked her 65th birthday and 25th anniversary in her local salon on the same day
Janet Tuck, of Scissors, trained as a hairdresser 50 years ago, at Ed Taylors hairdressers in Brighouse, and since then has loved it ever since.
“It doesn’t feel like work to me and it certinally doesn’t feel like it’s been 25 years,I love coming to work everyday, and I still have some regulars coming to me who has been with me since I trained.”
Mrs Tuck bought Scissors hairdressers 25 years ago, when she left her job at Howard & Jennifer Naylor’s to start her own business.
She said “ All the customers won’t let me leave, so I don’t plan on leaving the business anytime soon.”
She celebrated her birthday on Thursday at the salon with her colleagues: “I am lucky to have such a good relationship with the team. It makes coming to work easier”.
