Staff at Quickslide, Brighouse, have won a national G14 award.

A Brighouse factory owner has given trophies to his whole workforce after the company won an award in a national business competition.

Adrian Barraclough, chairman of Bradford Road based window manufacturer Quickslide, decided that his whole workforce should share the plaudits after his company was awarded the Best Training and Development Initiative prize in the G Awards, an Oscars style national competition held every year for the glass and glazing industry.

The whole workforce committed to a training programme that saved hundreds of thousands of pounds for the company while also improving quality and output.

When Adrian was on stage at the black tie dinner at the prestigious Hilton Hotel in London’s Park Lane, he vowed that he would share it with every one of the 100-plus employees back at the factory.

So he held a special ceremony at the factory at which each member of staff was presented with their own trophy.

“Every one of our team signed up to the training programme so it’s only fair that they all share this,” Adrian said. “I know it’s a cliche but quite literally we could not have won this award without all of our people.

“I wanted them all to be up on the stage with us when we were called up at the original awards but it wasn’t possible.

“So now we have been able to include everyone and they can look at their own trophy with pride, knowing that they played a real part in winning it.”
