A property lawyer based in Hipperholme, Valerie Holmes, has been appointed to the Board of the Society of Licensed Conveyancers.

The SLC has announced the appointment of Valerie Holmes as a director of the Society, along with two other conveyancers who are based in the south of England.

As one of the directors of the SLC board, she will contribute and be responsible for developing the SLC’s future strategy, ensuring that the growing numbers of licensed conveyancers have an effective voice across the legal profession, and exploring new and innovative solutions for the benefit of its members.

Valerie Holmes said: “I think that Conveyancers face some challenging times ahead and I hope that as a board member, I am able to make a positive contribution towards developing solutions to the current issues and the future challenges”.

“The housing market is picking up and this role offers an opportunity to help the industry as the market re-establishes itself.”

Simon Law, chairman of the SLC added: “By expanding our board of directors, we can ensure that going forward we have a strong team representing a wide span of the conveyancing profession to guide and further develop the Society.”
