Author and cake designer Debbie Brown is to return to The Cake Maker Shop in Brighouse to run two more of her master classes.
Debbie visited the town back in May to run two of her very popular classes and has taught in places such as Australia, the USA, Manila and Brazil.
She is a cake decorator, tutor and author of cake decoration and sugarcraft specialising in cake sculpture and modelling.
She is also the UK’s bestselling author of character and novelty cake books.
Much of her time is spent travelling extensively teaching her specialist skills in carefully structured workshops ensuring all students reach their potential with patience and encouragement.
She also demonstrates her skills and is a respected judge at specialist cake shows and competitions and is an accredited member of the British Sugarcraft Guild. When she isn’t teaching and running her successful business, she accepts special cake commissions from select clients.
Jill Hartley, owner of The Cake Maker Shop, said: “Due to the success of the first classes and demand from customers, Debbie had agreed to return to run two classes ‘The Love Beetle’ and ‘Cute Kittens’ on October 1 and 2.”
Each class runs the whole day and includes lunch out at a local bistro; the groups are small and personal so spaces are very limited.
Jill started making cakes 15 years ago when her husband Richard bought her a Debbie Brown book as a gift.
Jill added: “It’s surreal that the person who first inspired me to make cakes is now teaching classes in my shop.
“I now have over 20 of her books and asked her to sign them all last time she was here. Debbie is a lovely person and the courses are so laid back and everyone gets her full attention.”
