Organisers of the highly successful Rastrick Beer Festival are already drawing up plans to make this year’s event better than ever.
The third Rastrick Beer Festival is due to be staged on September 20 and 21 in St John’s Community Hall, off Gooder Lane, Rastrick.
The charities to benefit from this year’s event will be the Calder Valley Search and Rescue Service, the Alzheimer’s Society (Calderdale Service) and the local Marie Curie Nursing Services.
Chairman of the organising committee, Roger Ellis, said they were delighted with the response and support last year’s festival received from both sponsors and the public.
He said a tremendous amount of hard work and commitment had been put into making the festival a success. “The last two events have been a steep learning curve but it has enabled us to build on what we have done and will help us make this year’s event even better,” he said. “The more success we can achieve the more we can raise for both the church and the charities which in these difficult times of financial constraint will be much appreciated,” he said.
This year’s festival will run from 3pm until 10.30pm on the Friday and from 1pm until 10.30pm on the Saturday and will offer a selection of national and local ales and ciders. Food will also be available.
