Special guests were invited to the official launch of Brighouse and the Surrounding Homeless group and raised thousands of pounds in the process.

The event at Prego Restaurant, Brighouse was a resounding success raising over £6000.00 to support the group through a balloon raffle, auction and donations.

BASH was created in 2014 by Alison Mitchell and has recently seen support from many local businesses and individuals.

“We cannot thank everyone enough for their continued support, the charity that did not exist this time last year has developed and grown to help so many people in the local area,” said Alison.

“I would like to thank the team of volunteers and trustees as we would not be where we are today without them.

“We are also delighted that Carol & Bob Bridgestock have agreed to be patrons for BASH.”

The auction was the most talked about and anticipated event of the evening with three fantastic prizes including food and drink hamper from Continental Wine and Food, a chance to name a character in the 8th DI Dylan book from R.C Bridgestock and a signed, first edition Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith donated by David Headley of Goldsboro Books, Cecil Court London.

Authors Bob and Carol Bridgestock said. “We are proud to be Patron’s for BASH. Alison and the volunteers have shown remarkable strength and deservedly earned great respect from the trustees of the charity, local businesses and individuals for the way they have campaigned to support the homeless and vulnerably housed people in the local community.

“We will do all we can to support them.”
