Artist Ali White is aiming to capture the essence of Brighouse - by showing the town and its people in a new way.
Ali, whose photo-montages of Huddersfield and Holmfirth have already proved popular, is starting work on a unique picture which will portray the whole town in a single image.
Now he wants Brighouse people to make their own suggestions for the picture which will go on sale at the Harrison Lord Gallery at the end of November.
Photographic artist Ali said: “It’s a way of capturing the landmarks, notable buildings, events and people of a town on a single canvas, it’s not meant to be an exact representation of the place. I hope to be able to catch the flavour of Brighouse.
“The pictures are real talking points and people seem to love them. I have already started taking pictures, for instance at the last street market, and I took some of Roger Davies as he is a well-known local personality.”
Steven Lord, of the Harrison Lod Gallery, said: “Thanks to the efforts of Brighouse Business Initiative, Brighouse is a much more vibrant town than it used to be and that gave us the idea of creating a work for the town.
“Ali immediately took up the challenge and people will see him out and about in Brighouse snapping away.”
Anyone with suggestions should drop them off at the gallery in Bradford Road or email firstname.lastname@example.org
